What Sells Where: My eBay vs Whatnot Triage Rules

Seller School · Two channels, two jobs — stop making them fight

New inventory lands on my desk and gets sorted by rules, not vibes. Here they are.

To eBay (the store)

Duplicates — anything I already own, including cards sitting in my binders — plus everything $20 and up, plus bulk. eBay is the always-on storefront: thousands of listings working while I'm at my day job. Browse it the way customers do, in the cards hub.

To Whatnot (the show)

Small, low-value cards are reserved for live shows at $1 starts — the format rewards energy and volume. The $20+ hits also sit in the Whatnot item shop at my floor price, but they only run live when they draw pre-bids. No pre-bids? They stay parked in the shop. The audience decides what's worth the stage.

Why split at all

A $2 card and a $50 card are different products wearing the same cardboard. The store monetizes patience; the show monetizes excitement. Triage on intake and you never re-decide the same card twice.

Learn it, then shop it

Every lesson here is how the store actually runs. See it in the wild:
